As the public’s interest in veganism continues to soar, and companies like Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat continue to innovate, major chain restaurants have begun introducing plant-based meats on their menus. Even just a few short years ago, it would’ve been unthinkable to suggest that a chain like Burger King would be rebranding its iconic Whopper with a vegan patty.
Honestly, when I began compiling this list I was shocked. I had no idea how many burger chains and nationally-known restaurants now offer vegan meat options. The world is changing! Just take a look:
1. White Castle

With nearly 400 locations in 13 states, White Castle now offers its famous sliders made with the Impossible Burger. According the restaurant’s website, they are also currently testing vegan cheeses to add a plant-based cheese option to their menu as well.
2. Yard House

Yard House got into the vegan meat game earlier than most, over five years ago they introduced an entire menu that featured vegan meats by Gardein. While all the items on the Gardein menu are vegetarian, most can be made vegan. Just ask!
3. Burger King
Just last month, Burger King, the fifth largest restaurant chain in the world, announced they were testing the Impossible Burger in their Whopper at locations in St. Louis. The Impossible Whopper was so popular they’ve already decided to expand it to locations nationwide.
4. Qdoba
In April, this Mexican-inspired chain restaurant introduced plant-based meat by Impossible Foods at select locations. By the end of May, the Impossible meat option will be available at over 700 Qdoba locations.
5. Carl’s Jr.
Carl’s Jr. recently gave its Famous Star Burger an upgrade when it introduced the Beyond Famous Star Burger using the Beyond Burger 2.0. Carl’s Jr. was also the first company to feature a vegan meat patty in a Super Bowl commercial.
6. The Cheesecake Factory

In addition to plant-based menu items like their Vegan Cobb Salad, The Cheesecake Factory now offers Impossible Burger patties at their restaurants.
7. Del Taco

Introduced just a couple weeks ago, Del Taco’s Beyond Meat Taco is so popular it’s outselling its traditional meat taco! The restaurant is now looking to expand Beyond’s plant-based meat to other menu items.
8. Hard Rock Café
The music-themed restaurant added the Impossible Burger to nearly 40 of its locations across the U.S. If you want the burger made vegan, you have to order it without the cheese and the bun though. Lame.
9. TGI Friday’s
TGI Friday’s added the Beyond Burger to its menu in January 2018. Since then, it’s become a best seller. This burger can easily be made vegan upon request.
10. Blaze Pizza

Blaze Pizza not only offers vegan cheese, they recently announced they were adding a vegan spicy chorizo option to their menu. Blaze currently has over 300 restaurant locations.
11. Fatburger

With over 200 restaurants worldwide, Fatburger now offers the Impossible Burger at all U.S. locations. It’s also begun rolling out its Impossible Burger option overseas as well.
12. BurgerFi

BurgerFi recently began offering the Beyond Burger at its restaurants. There are over 100 BurgerFi’s across the U.S.
13. Umami Burger
Known for their gourmet burgers, Umami now makes an entirely vegan BBQ burger with the Impossible patty that sounds AMAZING! It includes an all-vegan bun, miso mustard, charred green chili salsa, espresso rub, smoky sweet bbq sauce, coleslaw, and thinly sliced jalapeño.
14. Bareburger

With locations mostly in the northeastern United States, Bareburger offers the Impossible Burger patty, the Beyond Burger, and the Beyond Sausage!
15. Veggie Grill
Veggie Grill is truly a vegan paradise! This all-vegan fast casual chain can be found up and down the west coast and in cities like Chicago, Boston, and soon, New York. They offer plant-based meats by Gardein, Beyond Meat, Field Roast, and more!

Some honorable mentions I’d like to name are Mellow Mushroom and Chipotle. Even though they don’t offer vegan meat per se, Mellow Mushroom has tofu and tempeh on its menu as plant-based protein options. They also carry vegan cheese. Chipotle has offered its vegan sofritas (a spicy braised tofu option) for years.
Additionally, many restaurants, like Denny’s, have veggie burgers on their menus.
