I’m extremely serious when it comes to ice cream. Growing up in a summer resort town, ice cream was a way of life. When I went vegan over a decade ago, the non-dairy ice cream options were pretty limited. Today, however, vegan ice cream isn’t just all the rage, it’s amazing and it’s everywhere! Not only do we have incredible pints from companies like So Delicious and Coconut Bliss who’ve been making vegan ice cream for years, but major ice cream producers like Häagen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry’s now do vegan pints as well.
These vegan flavors don’t just offer an alternative to dairy, they surpass dairy in every which way… especially flavor.
Here are nine vegan pints that prove dairy is officially done.
1. Archer Farms Vanilla Cake & Cookie Dough

Lord have mercy! I had to put my favorite ice cream first. Ladies, this pint will transform you on a cellular level. I have never tasted anything so sugary, creamy, and dreamy. And those cookie dough chunks! Archer Farms is Target’s brand so you can find it there. Go. I mean, like, go get it now!
2. Ben & Jerry’s Coconut Seven Layer Bar

OK, so when I first saw the name of this flavor I almost didn’t buy it because it sounds like a granola bar or something. I was SOOO wrong. This flavor is truly heavenly. Ben & Jerry’s expertly blends caramel, chocolate chunks, and graham cracker in the creamiest, smoothest almond-based ice cream ever. This pint is not to be missed!
3. Häagen-Dazs Mocha Chocolate Cookie

If there is one word that sums up this flavor it is DECADENT. I’m not even a fan of coffee ice cream but this pint delivers and then some. Don’t think coffee… think dark, rich espresso blended with dark chocolate ice cream and chocolate cookie. This is a chocolate lover’s miracle!
4. So Delicious Caramel Apple Crumble

Fashioned from oat milk, this flavor by So Delicious is literally like eating the world’s best apple à la mode in a pint. The oat milk also gives this flavor a creaminess that it is truly extraordinary. Of the three oat milk pints So Delicious makes, this one is my favorite. It’s exceptional!
5. Coconut Bliss Chocolate Peanut Butter

There is no better pairing with chocolate than peanut butter and this pint by Coconut Bliss proves my point. The rich and creamy coconut-based chocolate ice cream is swirled with peanut butter and peanut butter chunks. And that hint of saltiness… OMG! You will LOVE!
6. Ben & Jerry’s Caramel Almond Brittle

Of all the non-dairy pints by Ben & Jerry’s, this flavor takes the top prize. I can not have this in the house… it is BANNED! LOL! The almond brittle and caramel ribbon woven through the silky vanilla ice cream is just too much. I am obsessed with the unique and slightly salty flavor on this. It’s just amazing!
7. So Delicious Snickerdoodle

If you took autumn and turned it into an ice cream, this is what it would taste like! This cashew-based pint by So Delicious blends cinnamon ice cream with sugary snickerdoodle cookie dough chunks and it is truly fantastic. The cookie dough is also gluten-free so that’s a bonus if you’re avoiding it. I love eating this flavor right around Halloween and Thanksgiving!
8. Häagen-Dazs Coconut Caramel

This is literally like eating frozen creme brûlée! Häagen-Dazs outdid themselves on the creaminess and burnt sugar here. Though less complex than some of the pints above, the decadence here is profound and meaningful. Of all the brands, I’ve found Häagen-Dazs’ flavors to be the richest. They do not fuck around, gurls.
9. Oatly Oat

Anyone who truly knows me understands my deep attachment to Oatly. In my *humble* opinion, they make the best damn non-dairy milk on the planet. Though their ice cream flavor options to date have been slightly uninspired, the creaminess in these pints is a force to be reckoned with. I chose the oat flavor because of its simplicity. It’s just a pure, creamy dream. Have this on it’s own or top an apple or rhubarb pie with this good shit. You won’t be sorry.
