Here Are the Chain Restaurants that Have Added Vegan Meat to their Menus So Far this Year

When the history books are written, 2019 will be remembered as the year that vegan meat finally went mainstream. We are only a little bit more than halfway through the year and Beyond Meat’s gone public, Burger King’s Impossible Whopper has gone national, and restaurants have served over 200 million vegan burger patties!

In fact, it seems like every other week a new chain restaurant announces that they’ve added vegan meat to their menu. Here are the chains that have started selling vegan meat so far this year.

Subway

Just today, major chain restaurant Subway announced they will be partnering with Beyond Meat, adding a sub made with vegan meatballs to their menu at over 600 locations in the United States and Canada.

Burger King

Last week, the giant burger chain revealed that after testing their Impossible Whopper in select markets, it is now offering the vegan burger patty nationwide.

Carl’s Jr.

Earlier this year, Carl’s Jr. decided to add a meatless twist on their Famous Star Burger to their menu when they started selling the Beyond Famous Star Burger – made with the Beyond Burger 2.0. Carl’s Jr. also became the first restaurant to feature the Beyond Burger in a Super Bowl commercial.

Hardee’s

Following the lead of Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s, which is owned by the same parent company, recently declared they will be serving the Beyond Burger and the Beyond Sausage at their two largest markets this fall.

Little Caesars

America’s third largest pizza chain made headlines back in May when they announced they were adding vegan sausage by Impossible Foods to their menu.

Dunkin’ Donuts

At the end of July, Dunkin’ Donuts introduced a breakfast sandwich made with Beyond Meat sausage at nearly 600 restaurant locations in Manhattan. Plans are in the works to roll the sandwich out to all locations in the US.

Tim Horton’s

Canada’s largest chain restaurant added a breakfast sandwich made with Beyond Meat sausage earlier this year. They followed up by adding two burger menu items made with the Beyond Burger in June. And most recently, they unveiled plans to start serving JUST’s vegan egg in a new breakfast sandwich.

A&W

Though mostly known for their soda in the US, A&W is also a major fast food chain Canada. They also added the Beyond Burger to their menu back in June and a Beyond Sausage breakfast sandwich in March.

Del Taco

In May, Del Taco partnered with Beyond Meat adding a the Beyond Taco to their menu. The item became their most popular new product launch ever! They followed up with a Beyond Burrito menu item a month later.

Qdoba

Qdoba became the largest Mexican fast-casual chain to serve Impossible Foods’ meatless beef when they rolled out the plant-based meat to more than 700 locations the end of May.

Blaze Pizza

Blaze added a spicy vegan chorizo to their menu about four months ago. It is now available at locations across the country.
