A new article from Business Insider is highlighting the insane success of Del Taco’s rollout of Beyond Meat. Introduced just 11 days ago, the Beyond Meat Taco is now on track to be Del Taco’s most successful new item launch in its history. The Beyond Meat Taco is even currently outselling its meat taco!
All this comes in the wake of Beyond Meat’s incredible IPO last week. In fact, Beyond’s shares surged a whopping 163 percent making it the most successful market debut so far this year. Initially, the company predicted a net worth of around $1.5 billion after its first day being publicly traded; that quickly soared to more than $3.7 billion.
Del Taco’s CEO remarked that the launch of Beyond Meat has brought in a lot of new or lapsed customers who were intrigued to try the new plant-based offering. He also said Del Taco is now looking to roll out Beyond Meat in other menu items.

At just $2.49, the Beyond Meat Taco is not only an incredibly affordable meal option, it’s also much better for the environment. The truth is animal agriculture has been identified as one of the leading causes of climate change. Beyond Meat, by comparison, takes a fraction of the energy and water to produce. And of course, there’s no methane gas being emitted from cows — which scientists have identified as being 30 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a heat-trapping gas.
Additionally, when you purchase a Beyond Meat Taco you’re not supporting horrific animal cruelty. Ground beef is mainly produced from the remains of spent dairy cows. These poor animals spend year after year being mercilessly abused on factory farms. Don’t believe me? Check out this undercover investigation that was released just last month from a dairy factory farm in Pennsylvania.
With over 500 locations in 15 states, Del Taco’s are mainly located on the west coast. If you don’t have a Del Taco in your area, you can always make your own Beyond Meat tacos. Beyond Meat beef crumbles are available in supermarkets across the United States.
